1.2. “Engo” shall mean Engo a non-profit organisation registered in terms of the Non-Profit Organisations Act and all its programs and sub- programs.

1.3. “Information Officer” shall mean the person registered as the information officer by the company as stipulated under clause 1 of this Policy.

1.4. “POPIA” shall mean the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013.

1.5. “Personal Information” shall mean all information which may be considered to be personal in nature or information about an identifiable natural and/or existing juristic person in terms of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECTA”), the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”).

1.6. “User, you, your or yourself” shall refer to any person who makes use of the Website for any purposes whatsoever.

2.1. We may collect and process the following information about you:

2.1.1. Details of your visits to the website include, but are not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.

2.1.2. We may collect information about your computer, including the operating system and browser type, for system administration. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns and does not identify any individual.

2.1.3. We collect your email address only when you voluntarily subscribe to our newsletter. We only use the email address received from you to subscribe you to our newsletter and we do not share your email address with third parties.

2.1.4. Our website uses cookies to distinguish you from other users of the website.

3.1. Engo ensures compliance with the provisions of POPIA at all times, using Personal Information only for legitimate business purposes.

3.2. We will do our best to protect your personal information, and we will use technology that will help us to do this, however, the transmission of information via the Internet is not completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of your information transmitted to our website. Any transmission of your information to our website is entirely at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access.

3.3. Engo does not, except where otherwise permitted by law, collect, store, use or disclose your Personal Information without your consent.

3.4. All Personal Information retained on Engo’s database is kept in accordance with the retention provisions set out in POPIA and other applicable South African laws.

3.5. We will keep your personal information only for a reasonable time to enable us to use it for the purposes described in this privacy policy.

4.1. Engo operates its website in accordance with South African legislation.

4.2. If Engo sends Personal Information outside of South Africa, it will ensure compliance with all applicable laws, including POPIA, regarding transborder information flow.

4.3. We use information held about you in the following ways:

4.3.1. to ensure that content from our website or app is presented in the most effective manner for you and for your computer;

4.3.2. to provide you with information, products or services that you request from us or which we feel may interest you, where you have consented to be contacted for such purposes;
