People with disabilities often feel excluded from the community and live socially isolated.

The purpose of the centres is to give them a place within a unique group. Therefore, from a Christian perspective, we strive to offer programs that focus on the optimal functioning of adults with disabilities according to each individual’s specific disabilities and needs. These centres create a safe environment for adults with disabilities in which they can function optimally. Here they receive the necessary guidance and development opportunities under supervision. Members are cared for, learn various skills and also receive training in an adult literacy program. Members are involved in social, cultural, religious and creative programs and are continuously empowered to deal with the disability with which they live.

Disability Care Services

Ebenhaeser is a 24-hour care centre for persons between the ages of 18 and 60 years. Salileni is only a day care centre for people older than 18 years.

How volunteers can get involved?

Without the involvement of the community, the service will not be rendered. We need volunteers to support the centres in terms of donations, help with lodging of needy disabled residents, in-kind donations, groceries, special rates, for example, maintenance work and so on, which ensures that the service can survive.

We also need volunteers to help with the following:

  • Cutting and doing of hair
  • Assistance with specific activity programs at the various Disabled Care Centres
  • Presenting activity programs for the residents.
  • Assistance with fundraising projects.

Need for donations and help

Many of these members come from poor social backgrounds and have a purposeless lifestyle. That is why we need clothes, shoes, underwear, socks and toiletries for them.

We also need the following:

  • Physiotherapy services
  • Occupational therapy services
