At Salileni, we provide a safe and supportive environment<\/span> for adults with disabilities. We help our members acquire valuable life skills,<\/span> enabling them to develop independence<\/span> and even generate an income<\/span>. Our programs include basic literacy<\/span> and numeracy,<\/span> as well as crafts<\/span> such as woodworking, painting, sewing, and knitting. In addition, we celebrate creativity<\/span> through singing, dancing, and concerts with costumes, while everyone also learns Sign Language<\/span>\u2014a necessity, as we have two deaf-mute members.<\/p>\n The name “Salileni”<\/span> is derived from the Afrikaans phrase “Sal nie gaan l\u00ea nie”<\/span>, which reflects our commitment to keep fighting for the survival of the centre and the empowerment<\/span> of people with disabilities.
